Lead generation is not a tactic, it is a sequence

Most businesses do not have a lead problem. They have a sequence problem — one touch, once, and then silence.

The single most common thing we see is a business that advertises once, gets a handful of enquiries, decides advertising does not work, and stops.

One placement is not a campaign. It is a coin toss. The reader has to be in the market, in the mood, and holding the magazine at the same moment. Run the same placement four times and you are no longer relying on that coincidence — you are relying on accumulation.

The sequence that works for our members is boring and reliable. Something printed, so it stays on a desk. Something searchable, so you are findable when they go looking later. Something in the inbox, so you exist between issues. And something in person, so a name becomes a face.

Each one on its own is weak. Together they are the reason someone rings you rather than the first result on a search page.

The other half of the sequence is what happens after the phone rings, and this is where most of the loss is. An enquiry that waits two days for a reply is usually an enquiry that has already been answered by somebody else.
